Unable to move Dropbox folder to external drive on Mac
Good evening, I have tried many solutions suggested by this forum to get the result of having a copy of the files present on the cloud also on an external mac disk but without success (permissions, formatting the APFS drive encrypted and not, mac os extended). The disk where the operating system resides is 250GB and is not sufficient to also contain the dropbox files. currently my operating system is sequoia 15.3.2 si imac retina 5k 2020. do you have any solutions?
I click the Dropbox icon and it opens the Dropbox folder - how can I access the actual preferences?
I have the same problem as the original question. When I open Dropbox it just goes to the explorer window. There is no other App I can see. So how to I change the settings? In my case I want some online files to be available on my laptop. When I first installed and opened Dropbox I got the choice of what folders/ files I could see, but subsequently all I can do is see the ones I chose to be off line. The only way I can find to do this is to uninstall and reinstall, which is ludicrous. there must be another way, The top says solved but I don't see a solution to the original question and this is 4 years later.
Selective sync issues after migrating to a new Mac Mini M4 from an M1
I upgraded to a Mac Mini M4 from a Mac Mini M1, there are many Dropbox Selective Sync issues after migration. I think I understand how to clear them up, but how can I get folders that are already in my Dropbox account in cloud to appear in Finder in Available Off Line mode? For example in Finder I have a folder xxx (Selective Sync Conflict), I can delete it, but how do I get the original xxxx folder to appear in Finder? Many thanks, it seems searching Dropbox help just gives me every possible solution to everything except what I need.
How can I see what files the client thinks it needs to sync?
The client says >250k files, 157GB The total size of the folders marked to sync is <25GB It it really so difficult to give us more details on which files are currently being synchronised and which ones are in the queue? Literally all the others I know of do! Mega.NZ, StackStorage, OwnCloud...
Dropbox syncing icons are gone. I can't make content available offline, or online only.
Good day everyone I was recently cleaning my storage space (i have a MAC running sequioa 15.0) and i accidentally clicked on make available offline on a large folder i Had, since I have no space my dropbox wwas unable to sync the files to my computer, now the tick marks are completley gone and I cant make anything online only or available offline. I already deselected the folder in the selective syncing menu, but still nothing I restarted my computer, quit dropbox and relaunched my computer but nothing works please HELP!!!!Dropbox icon constantly reports "Indexing 4 files..."
I deleted all files in my personal Dropbox account, then moved a couple gigs of files into it from my work Dropbox account. It took a little while to move the files but has been completed for a couple days but I have a persistent working icon showing and it says "Indexing 4 files...". How do I determine which files it is supposedly still indexing, or if it is just hung up for some reason? I told it to show me any Sync issues and it says I have no sync issues. I have quit/restarted several times. Running Windows10.
The Dropbox right-click options are gone from my Mac's Finder.
My files are all in the cloud. This restricts things I can do on my Mac; I can't preview or upload to the web, for example (which I want to do often). I thought one used to be able to right click in the Finder and make a particular folder available offline. But that's missing on my Mac. Right clicking in a Dropbox folder reveals nothing connected to Dropbox. Otherwise, files function and sync if opened and modified as normal. The Dropbox icon at the top right of the Mac screen is visible and seems to be functioning normally. Can right clicking in the Finder be turned on somehow? I have the option to make all Dropbox files available offline in Dropbox preferences, but I don't want all of the files—just some of them.Why was the way screenshots were handled changed?
Me and my friends question what drove the people behind this software to break something intentionally like that? I work as a Quality Assurance expert, and can only see this change as sabotage. When I press "PrtSc" I want the image to be copied into my clipboard. The fact that it was saved into the screenshots folder wasn't always desired, but I could deal with it (always cleaned up that folder once a month). But now that doesn't happen. I get so many extra steps, and if I opt out of it, I'm left with nothing. Sure, I could just install a different software for making screenshots, but that seems so stupid to do, given what worked before!
