Recently we have added two entry level members to our firm. We purchased licenses for them and wanted to add them to SOME Dropbox folders pertinent to their work. Unfortunately, Dropbox is telling me that the only way to add a person is to add a new person to the Team and this gives them access to EVERY folder in the firm's Dropbox. The only fix is to add a new person then delete the Team access to the folder and then individually reinvite people to each folder. How can Dropbox think this is a good idea? A person joining on their first day has access to most secret information the firm has, if only temporarily it's still a bad idea. Not to mention the vast amount of time and data consumed deleting off the Managing Partners and Partners and then having them resync and download. There's got to be a better way. Dropbox suggested that all new employees could have individual plans but that's just silly and an administrative burden.38Views0likes3CommentsMy account is in locked stage, after joining another team, and I can't access my files.

Hello, I tried sending invites to my team members but they haven't received any emails. We checked our spam and tried searching for emails from Dropbox to no avail. We signed up for the Dropbox Business Plus plan for 4 team members. We wanted to try out the free trial before signing up. Does the free trial prevent invites?26Views0likes1CommentExternal users prompted to join team when shared a file
Dirty practice from Dropbox to prompt a recipient of a shared file to be asked to join your team. This prompt confuses the recipient of the file who requests to join the team and therefore Dropbox gains another paid user. This user (from another company) if added to the team by an overworked I.T. dept who isn't paying attention, then gains access to the company files. Please re-work your prompt system and remove the option to request access to join the team. We can add members to the team from the admin console and this is the most secure way to do this. This fault is obviously a great way for Dropbox to gain 'accidental' paid users at the expense of security. I receive a few of these emails each month and each time it's just Dropbox testing myintelligence again to see if I will accidentally add a totally random person to access our company files by mistake. This is absolutely not secure file storage and is designed to be misleading. It is frustrating that Dropbox is actively phishing. Disabling the ability of a user to request to join a team (from outside your company) would resolve this. It is hard to imagine a scenario where you would want to add (and pay for) an external user to your team. If you did need this feature, it would be a deliberate action and the cost involved would need to be approved (an ongoing subscription - the worst kind of cost). Email requests from external users would of course be ignored and make no impact on the purchase of the license. The current short term fix i can suggest is just setting Dropbox emails to block/spam/autodelete. Thanks for reading this far.276Views0likes5CommentsHow can I rotate users with a fixed number of licenses in a business plan?
We are small organisation where three people from the management should share documents. We decided to purchase Dropbox Business with 3 licenses. One person created the Dropbox account, and automatically became ADMIN. His email become the address used by Dropbox to communicate the issues affecting the whole team. Other people were invited by admin via invitation process. Now - in this organisation, management regularly rotate - one or more people leave the management, other people enter management. At any given time, there are at most 3 people in the management. What is the correct procedure to manage Dropbox accounts in this scenario? For example - when Admin person is replaced in the management, how to transfer ADMIN role to differrent user? There are two scenario variants: a) tranfer ADMIN role to already existing user b) transfer ADMIN role to newly added user - this, however, temporarily increases the number of users by 1 🙂 How to solve this?62Views0likes5CommentsMy account has been deleted because i joined another Dropbox team by mistake.

Hello Folks. i hope you can help. I have joined a TEAM and in the process i have lost access to to my own (paid for 3TB personal ACC). This is what happened: I have a personal account which i pay for 3TB (call this TB_P1) I was asked to joined a team to work on a project and in the process i couldn't work how to link my Personal account to their team. So i logged off and Started fresh by trying to join their TEAM without being logged into my personal Dropbox. So whilst i was Joining the team DropBox required me to set up another 'Personal account' as i couldn't seem to link my own one (lets call this TB_P2) So i have now lost access to my own personal TB_P1 account. what i have access to now is a new Personal account TB_P2 of which i don't want and the TEAM for work which i do want to be linked to. So the question is: How do i get rid of this new Personal account and Link my TB_P1 account instead of this redundant TB_P2 account? Any help would be great as i Dropbox don't seem to have any customer care? How strange? Thanks Tom249Views0likes3CommentsI can't invite other team members because of a 'failed to load pricing information' error
Dear All We have just activated a Dropbox Business account with the standard three licenses. I successfully activated the first license (admin), and the Admin Console shows that I’ve used 1 out of 3 licenses. However, when I attempt to invite another member, the invitation email doesn’t get sent, and I receive the error message “failed to load pricing information.” (see picture) I'm at a loss for how to resolve this issue and would appreciate any guidance.
