2033 Topics--> Did you know... you can search for images using just text?
Hello Dropbox Community! My name is Lainie and I'm a Product Manager at Dropbox. Every now and again, I am going to post a "--> Did you know..." to 1) keep you informed of all of the cool technology that exists at Dropbox and 2) gather your feedback on how the features are performing. In today's, "--> Did you know..." I'll be talking about Image Search! Image search is allows you to use the Search Bar to search for the contents of the image using words to describe the image. For example, if you search for "cat" your search results will show files that 1) contain the word "cat" in the file name or body, AND 2) files that contain images of cat. No mention of the word "cat" is necessary! Pretty cool! If you haven't yet, I recommend that you check it out. Please respond to this thread and let me know... A) Did you know this feature existed? Do you use it? B) How can we make this even more useful for you? Have a great day! 1. So the idea is that once you plug in your charger, dropbox automatically uploads all your photos into the library. 2. This could be optional with sliding on off button. It could also be combined, so that when your phone is charging, and you are connected to Wi-Fi. It will start to upload your photos. 3. They could also be a third option, including both of the before mentioned solutions, but it would also synchronize your whole dropbox. All uploads and downloads would happen in this period. That way, you will never have to worry about using up all your battery at an inconvenient time,or all ofyour monthly amount of gigabytes from your service provider.14Views0likes0CommentsA large scanned PDF did not upload and is missing, can I find it in the iOS mobile app?
Hi, tldr; scanned document didn‘t finish the upload without showing errors or any trace of the file; how to recover the data? Last days I had to scan a lot of documents and though there was a weak connection everything went fine initially. A couple of the uploads were stuck, some waiting, some with errors. All of them finished when I took a break in a wifi hotspot and all those files are safe on the server. The last document had many pages (>50), so I didn‘t wonder when the sandbox showed for a longer time. As everything went fine before, I changed the app and worked on something else. When I switched back to Dropbox App minutes later, there was no sign of any upload running, nothing in the queue, no errors. And no trace of my big file anywhere. In the meantime I also checked the events, but no surprise, the server didn‘t catch this one. Question: Is there any chance to recover the pages of the scan and redo the upload? I have spent a long time to adjust dozens of corners and the original documents are not so easy to access again. The file must have been generated somewhere locally on my device, so can I retrieve that with some ios tools? I didn‘t close the app nor did I restart the device, so I have still some hope. I use browsers and the apps on iPad and iPhone. The scan was taken with the DropBox App 404.2.2 on iPhone 13 running IOS 18.1.1 with plenty of memory space left on iPhone and Dropbox server.10Views0likes3CommentsHow to reset my camera uploads, I tried everything
Hi! I need to force the Android app to re-upload all the photos in my gallery. I set it up so it uploads everything, not just new photos, but it will only upload new items. I believe it recognizes older pics as "already uploaded" and I don't know how to reset this. I have already: -re-installed the app -deleted the cache memory -deleted all files in the Dropbox camera upload folder -restarted the device -even tried from a new device with a different SD card but with the same files in it Still, Dropbox will only upload new files. I also tried manually uploading but due to the fíes being cover 1500, the app never stops processing the files and never uploads anything. I'm on Android 12 and no other apps are set toSolved7KViews1like74CommentsAudio files are compressed/downgraded in quality when exported to iMessage.
I've noticed an issue with exporting/sharing audio files over the last few months, from Dropbox into iMessage. I often share audio files for work, and I go into the app, click share, then export file. Recently when I do this my audio files are getting compressed and severely downgraded in quality. I've also noticed file size going from 8-9mb to 2-3mb. The degrading of quality is a major problem. this bug seems to be continuing and would love to have it reported to the team!107Views0likes19CommentsFile requests on Dropbox mobile app for iPadOS
Hi there, We would imagine this has been requested before, but hopefully it can’t hurt to ask again. Many in our team use iPadOS for work, and the ability to send a File Request through the iPadOS would be much appreciated. Much thanks!154Views0likes3CommentsIs there software to stream songs from a specific folder (and subfolders) in the Dropbox mobile app?
I have quite a music collection saved on Dropbox in terms of files. Used to sync all offline to my phone but the library got too big to import all to my phones storage, ran out REAL quick. Is there a third party app with some library display functions showing the library of files I have in some specific dropbox folder (+subfolders) that I can stream from on the go, assuming I have some data connection ofc. Simpely put; dropbox contains files (that will not expanded anytime soon) third party app reads those files and indexes them accordingly playing from third party app streams the song on device I'm aware of latency issues or lack of offline access but that's not a requirement. Thanks in advance! Feel feel to ask questions if clarity is required.17Views0likes1CommentMy videos are automatically uploaded to Instagram. How can I stop it?
Something has changed here for the worse. Why is Dropbox making decisions for me without my permission?? I have uploaded a video which then I was going to post to Instagram FROM my Instagram account, in the process of which I need to add collaborators, tag people, add description etc. But the moment my video was uploaded, I saw it said UPLOADED TO INSTAGRAM. What????? I did NOT select or authorise an auto upload. I don't allow anything auto as I need to control the process with additional information and action. Idid NOT link my Instagram account with Dropbox. So where and how exactly it has posted my video? When I searched online, the instructions I found are confusing as I can't find anything they are talking about. So here are my questions: 1. I did NOT select or authorise an auto upload. I don't allow anything auto as I need to control the process with additional information and action. Why is Dropbox posting my uploaded videos to Instagram without my permission? How does it decide that the video reel is for Instagram? It might be for a completely different purpose NOT to be published in Insta!!! 2. How can I stop it? Online posts say I need to change the BACKUP setting under Preferences - but I do NOT have this option there. This is terribly confusing and frustrating. I want to be able to upload a video without an AI deciding what it is and what to do with it !!! That's something I DECIDE and did NOT give the Dropbox AI my permission to do anything on my behalf!! 3. Does it actually post those videos to the account timeline? Some online post say that this is a BACKUP. So is it a backup or it is actually posted to Instagram?? I didn't wait to check and quickly deleted the video. I can't risk it being posted without me doing what I need to do with it first. Where exactly is this BACKUP setting? I can't see it anywhere in my dashboard. Could someone please explain this mess to me and tell me how the heck can I STOP all those auto decisions by AI on my account. In the meantime I have to use my email to upload this reel from my phone. thanksSolved124Views0likes12Comments
