I'm trying to debug a problem a user of my macOS application has, where it won't read files on an external drive handled by Dropbox. The files are in `~/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox/`, which I assume means that she is using Dropbox with file provider support. I'm not a Dropbox user myself, but I'm trying to replicate her setup in order to investigate the problem, so I've downloaded the Dropbox app and signed up for a free trial. However, when I try to activate File Provider support, it says “You are not eligible for the new Dropbox for macOS on File Provider at this time,” without giving a reason. This is on a 2020 M1 MacBook Air with Sequoia 15.1. Does anyone know a way to get around this? And even better, does anyone have an idea why my app sometimes is unable to read her file?0Views0likes0CommentsI want to restore the contents that were in my personal folder on a team account
I became a Dropbox business team member by invitation. In Dropbox, personal folders and shared folders were divided. After I left the team, I went to the account I was invited to access my personal folder, but I had to re-join, so I couldn't check my personal folder. I want to restore the contents of my personal folder. What should I do?12Views0likes1CommentiPhone 14 Outlook app doesn't show files for Dropbox
When trying to attach a Dropbox file using the Outlook mobile app, a screen says "No files found." I used to be able to create an email and then attach the Dropbox file using the Outlook app, but now this is not working. It's possible from the Dropbox app side, but not from Outlook. Any idea why this is happening? I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Dropbox and removing/adding my Dropbox profile for Outlook, but this persists.25Views0likes2CommentsNew Computer - all Word Docs Corrupt
I have set up a new computer. Downloaded the Dropbox desktop app, same as previous computer. I am running Office365. Now all Word documents that are stored in DP are showing corrupted. I can login to DP directly and open the document but when I try to open through my DP shortcut on file explorer. Word docs will not open directly. The solution has been to open the document from DP and then re-save it on the computer in DP. So I still have access to the docs but it's very inconvenient. Is there a solution that would allow my documents to all update at once and be available again from the file explorer shortcut?8Views0likes1CommentEntire folders vanished from my account
I had folders titled "old pictures" and "old videos." I had them only online and did not synch them with my devices, so they would not take up space. I went online to find a particular picture that would have been in one of those folders, and the folders are gone. I would have never deleted it and never received any notice that they had been deleted. They are not folders I access often, so I have no idea how long they've been missing. I only have the plan that can show deleted files for the past 30 days, and they aren't there. Are there zero options to get the folders back now, and I just have to mourn the loss of decades of family pictures and videos? It concerns me about the safety of all my other less frequented folders.22Views0likes2CommentsLogged into an old account and couldn't find my files

Dropbox is wonderful -- I've paid for professional for ten years -- but it could be immensely better.. You will make more money if you do these two related things:) (1) The branding feature is way too basic. The options seem like they're from 1995. It would be wonderful if we had more options and more customization. Specifically, if we could create different branding for different customers, it would be amazing. (I use Dropbox to share pictures and videos with my customers. I want to put THEIR branding on these files and galleries, NOT MINE.) (2) The experience of RECEIVING shared files is HORRIBLE, for the people who RECEIVE the links or transfers. Even using the current branding options, Dropbox still puts its OWN branding on the page – this is confusing for the receiver. It's messy and ugly, and it takes up too much screen space. They think they have to create a Dropbox account to receive the files. You are trying to get sales, through me, a paying customer -- that is **bleep**ty. Please take all your branding and sales prompts off these pages, for us paying customers. Also, browsing through pictures on shared links is a slow and not-intuitive process. It would be amazing if you could make it function like[removed per the Dropbox Community Guidelines]. These companies create beautiul galleries, and customers can easily create lists of their favorite pictures. You could actually steal all their business if you did this. I am 100% certain your customers would love these features:)22Views0likes1CommentHow can I restore my account to a version with older files?
I have the basic dropbox on two computers - say Desktop and Laptop. Due to a Desktop restore from Idrive cloud backup my dropbox on Desktop has updated with old folders/files which were previously deleted or modified and a sync operation up to the max memory allowed in basic account has occured (dropbox stopped sync as memory got full) so now I have incorrect contents on the Web dropbox. I cannot use the rewind facillity as its a basic account (tells be to go buy an upgrade if I try and rewind a folder}. To get back to my dropbox before it got accidentaly updated with old stuff, my idea is to to uninstall dropbox from Desktop and delete the local dropbox folder. My Laptop was not turned on at the time so that holds the correct Dropbox contents. If I now log into my dropbox web account via a browser and delete all files and folders in the web account and then turn on the Laptop, will the dropbox on my Laptop Sync/upload to the dropbox account and effectively recreate the correct contents. on the Dropbox Web account. I can then re install dropbox on the Desktop and the dropbox will now download from the Web and be correct on the Desktop. Will this work please?
