Android OS: Share>Upload to Dropbox>'Choose upload location': That dialog window does not show the name/path of the destination folder it is displayingto the user. Often this forces the user to tap 'back' several times to see what node of the folder tree the app will send the file(s) to. If the user hasn't done a recent 'Share>Add to Dropbox' operation, they have no memory of what the last destination folder path was. Please help the user know right away the name/path if the default destination folder. Thank you. P.S. I wish this feedback system would allow for screenshots to be uploaded.777Views2likes13CommentsI don't see my external drive backup files, even though the backup is completed.
It's my first time using Dropbox Backup and I wanted to backup my external hard drive before I change the settings on it. On the Dropbox Backup homepage, it says backup is completed, but when I click to view backed up files, only my folders are there and nothing else. I've checked on multiple computers and still nothing. Please help.705Views0likes7CommentsDropbox photo sync is missing lots of photos.
I've been using the automatic photo backup for a long time now, and I assumed it is reliable and all my photos are being backed up successfully when it says they are. I am really alarmed to discover that is actually not the case. Recently I opened Dropbox and it started the photo sync and it said it had a little over 2200 photos to sync, ok no problem I left it open and let it do its thing. I checked on it a few minutes later and it said "all backed up" and I think wow that was really fast...too fast actually. So I check my dropbox and there's only 561 files there. It missed like 1600 pictures and said "all good!". This is really alarming and I'm now instantly extremely sad thinking about how many photos my wife and I have likely lost over the years. I am shook. How can I get it to retry all the photos it apparently did not upload?265Views0likes5CommentsKeep an active Mac Mail mailbox on Dropbox
Hi, my email archive has grown over the years – I want to keep all the important old stuff (since 1994) because it's kind of my personal archive. Now my mail provider (a little independent company) is complaining about the 50GB+ that I am using and wants to start charging me for that. There's plenty of space in my Dropbox so it would be great to be able to move old mail folders to Dropbox while still being able to access them from all my devices. In a nutshell, this is what I'd like to do: - Make the mailbox folders local on one of my computers so they don't take up space on my IMAP mail server - Move the local mbox folders to Dropbox while still being able to access them through the Mail.app - Then add them as local folders on other devices so they are available everywhere. Is this even possible, or do I risk messing up all my data? Thanks ChristophSolved275Views0likes1CommentI added a folder to Dropbox from the website, but only 200 files got uploaded.
I added one folder from my D drive to my Dropbox backup and it quickly backed up about 200 files and then stopped. Nothing else got backed up. So, I deleted that folder from Dropbox and added it again, with the same result. Can anyone tell me what's going on?556Views0likes10CommentsHow to import a 30 GB drive?
Hi! I need help, I used to use Drive cloud for my files, I need to import the whole Drive whose size is 30 GB approximately, to Dropbox, but I don't want to do it file by file. Is there any way to migrate all the information from one cloud to another? I already tried with the option that appears in “Upload” “Import from Drive”, but from this option you can only send files by files, not all at once. Thanks!144Views0likes1CommentUploading images/videos from iPhone resets the name to today's date instead of its creation date
Hello Dear Dropbox-Team, I find it very useful that Dropbox changes the names of my images and videos to this uniform format "[Foto|Video] DD.MM.YY, HH MM SS.[jpg|png|mp4|...]" when I upload them from my iPhone using the client. For example, my image named "IMG_1234" will be named "Foto 01.01.20, 12 59 55". This helps me a ton to organise my images/videos on a separate drive by sorting by name, since the date is embedded in the filename. Unfortunately, this does not work for all images. After uploading some of my images, the creation date is reset to today's date, which breaks this organisation system. I have not changed the metadata on these images, but it still happens. Is there a way to make the naming convention consistent, propably with a fix? Thank you in advance for answering my question 🙂368Views0likes7CommentsPhotos and videos display on wrong date on my iOS device
I have an issue where some of my videos and photos have been auto uploaded from my iPhone they have the correct date (2016 08) as the file name. But in my photo display as today’s date 2024 10 31, when you look at information on the files they also show the correct date. So why are these image showing in year 2024 month October? They should be 2016 in May (which the majority of the images and photos taken at the same time do).134Views0likes1Comment
