Ok when I started on drop box about when It first came out was good.. Several Macs. later. and storage locations later. the directory of files on dropbox is significantly different then what the application shows. I have a limited number of files or folders then I want to keep on my local Mac because I need to keep the local files on an external drive. I think the difference was caused by the external drive being disconnected while the Dropbox application was open.. I only recently found out this is a bad thing. How so I "sych" up the list dropbox files shown in the application with what is in the cloud?Solved76Views0likes13CommentsWhy was the way screenshots were handled changed?
Me and my friends question what drove the people behind this software to break something intentionally like that? I work as a Quality Assurance expert, and can only see this change as sabotage. When I press "PrtSc" I want the image to be copied into my clipboard. The fact that it was saved into the screenshots folder wasn't always desired, but I could deal with it (always cleaned up that folder once a month). But now that doesn't happen. I get so many extra steps, and if I opt out of it, I'm left with nothing. Sure, I could just install a different software for making screenshots, but that seems so stupid to do, given what worked before!119Views2likes8CommentsDropbox icon constantly reports "Indexing 4 files..."
I deleted all files in my personal Dropbox account, then moved a couple gigs of files into it from my work Dropbox account. It took a little while to move the files but has been completed for a couple days but I have a persistent working icon showing and it says "Indexing 4 files...". How do I determine which files it is supposedly still indexing, or if it is just hung up for some reason? I told it to show me any Sync issues and it says I have no sync issues. I have been using Dropbox for years without any problems at all. However it has disappeared from my Mac 5 or 6 times in the last month and there is no logical reason why - it just goes. I then have to re-download the app. Any idea why and how this can be stopped? I use dropbox business for my work and found that when I try to access my dropbox folder or files syned in my pc hdd, it gets significantly slow within certain period of time. I synced dropbox file as offline so all my files saved in local hdd and when I access dropbox files through pc app, it is very slow to move and access among files and folders. For years I was always able to share files directly from my desktop by clicking on the folder/file in the local dropbox directory. But it no longer has this option! Recently I went back to Dropbox having read that it now works with Snapdragon Windows versions, but currently I have a significant issue. I cannot have any online-only file in my SP11, thus I cannot have all Dropbox files in my device. I have this in the main DP screen: Then I go to "Manage hard disk space", select folders and make online-only. In less than a second I get the message they are online-only, but they aren't. I have reviewed the discussion questions and didn't see what is needed. My laptop storage is almost depleted. I have marked a folder (using File Explorer) as Online Only. When I tried to delete the folder from my laptop using file explorer, I received a message saying it would also be deleted from my Dropbox Account.
