Camera Uploads
255 TopicsThe uploaded photos from the Camera Uploads aren't synced locally.
Hey there, Here's a problem I'd like some advice on. What I would want: 1. The photos from my iPhone get automatically uploaded to my Camera Uploads account in Dropbox - SUCCESS 2. The uploaded photos from the Camera Uploads account get automatically downloaded/synced to the hard drive of my MacBook - FAIL The filenames of the uploaded photos are visible in my desktop app, and if I double-click on them to view them, they will get downloaded eventually I have checked all settings I could think of and they all seem to be right. Still, I don't get to the expected result. Any guidance is much appreciated139Views0likes4CommentsUploading images/videos from iPhone resets the name to today's date instead of its creation date
Hello Dear Dropbox-Team, I find it very useful that Dropbox changes the names of my images and videos to this uniform format "[Foto|Video] DD.MM.YY, HH MM SS.[jpg|png|mp4|...]" when I upload them from my iPhone using the client. For example, my image named "IMG_1234" will be named "Foto 01.01.20, 12 59 55". This helps me a ton to organise my images/videos on a separate drive by sorting by name, since the date is embedded in the filename. Unfortunately, this does not work for all images. After uploading some of my images, the creation date is reset to today's date, which breaks this organisation system. I have not changed the metadata on these images, but it still happens. Is there a way to make the naming convention consistent, propably with a fix? Thank you in advance for answering my question 🙂368Views0likes7CommentsPhotos uploading on phone even though Camera Uploads is turned off.
I've had Camera Uploads turned off on my iPhone for Dropbox for several months, and yet I noticed today every photo in my iPhone library is showing up in Dropbox Photos, even deleted photos. I can't find any other setting to turn this off. Any ideas why this is happening and how to stop it?555Views0likes2CommentsDropbox is uploading duplicate camera upload images, why?
When I open my dropbox folder on my computer in order to download photos from my mobile phone, all pictures are downloaded twice. Looking at my dropbox on-line and on the app on my phone I can see photos appear twice, sometimes 3 times. I have to delete all the duplicated pictures manually☹️ What can I do to stop this? I have Autoplay set up to import new photos from USB drives, and this has worked for years on my old USB stick. I've started using a new one, but it refuses to upload any of the photos to my Camera Uploads folder. I still have enough space left, and it offers me the chance to add the drive to my Backup (but this doesn't help me because I want the photos renamed according to the date they were taken). Camera Uploads still works for my Android phone, so it's clearly capable of recognising photos from there.1.9KViews0likes18CommentsManually uploading content using the mobile app restricts to 400 at a time.
I bought Dropbox 2TB. I am thinking of canceling the subscription. I think Dropbox is such a waste. Even after 4 days, not even 500 photos are uploaded to Dropbox from my iPhone. I tried selecting photos and upload, there is a restriction to select all and I can select only 400. I have 16000 photos how can I do this. Anyway, even with 400 it’s taking for ever. I tried back up camera roll, still same issue even after 4 days. It’s such a waste of time and they don’t even connect to tech support.1.6KViews0likes4CommentsHow can I only upload the photos from my phone and not my computer to Dropbox?
Hello All, I've noticed that (for awhile now) after I enabled the "Turn on camera uploads" on my iphone, whenever I had the iOS Dropbox App open, it not only uploaded all the photos in the iphone camera roll (which is what it is suppose to do), but I realized it also uploaded photos in my Mac, to be more specific, it is in my Desktop folder (a dropbox symlink) To put things in perspective, the symlink is already synced to Dropbox, and all things in there, photos and other files, are already uploaded. How can I disable this "extra upload" feature and have my iOS only focused on upload the photos in my iPhone only. Thanks473Views0likes11CommentsCan I retain the original name of the file if it's uploaded through Camera Uploads?
I noticed that the file name for camera uploads will be automatically changed. Original file name: 20240330-164639 When uploaded to dropbox: 2024-03-30 16.46.39. Is there anyway to retain the original naming?118Views0likes1Comment
