I was sent an email (it appeared to be from a trusted sender) directing me to dropbox to open a file. I clicked on it which sent the file to dropbox, but I did not open the file within dropbox. Only then did I learn that the email was a phishing scam. But now I can't delete the file from my dropbox. The three dots only give me two options: "open" and "copy link." How can I remove this file from my dropbox?? Thanks for any help, JenniferSolved46Views0likes5CommentsSomeone shared a phishing .paper with my organization. How can I delete it for everyone?
Someone from "HR Employee Benefit Admin" shared a phishing .paper titled "2025 Employee Pay Revision Benefit Effective February 08, 2025 - Pending Approval.paper" with my entire organization and, as a top admin, I would like to know how to remove it for all of our users. I can see where I can remove it for myself, but not all users.Solved47Views0likes6CommentsLost access to email associated with a Dropbox account that I haven't signed in it for 6-7 years.
I wish to recover my Dropbox account that I created when I was around 13 years old. It has a number of my childhood photos and other important files uploaded to it and I would really like to get access to that account again. Unfortunately I have since changed devices and phone numbers and I don't have access to the email I used to create the account. Google can't help me recover my account because they don't have enough information to prove that it's mine, so I can't reset my password on there and thus not on Dropbox either. I have tried all the options both Dropbox and Google have to offer me but to no avail. I haven't logged in to that account in probably 6-7 years but I would really like to get those files back, they mean a lot to me emotionally. Can someone please help me? I am willing to do anything at this point.34Views0likes2CommentsHow to log into my account and where are my files?
I want to resolve this? I see two things. 1. How do I login to my account? It asked me to create a new account with my previous email on file so it can say there is already an account associated... 2. I want to locate deleted files or files that were inside my dropbox that were there some years ago. I did not erase them. I see they were not there were I had them. 3. In the future I would not post this to the community, so I have only shown the last four of each...41Views0likes1CommentStrange email from Dropbox - You deleted 5860 files from Dropbox
I received this email from Dropbox saying 5,860 files were deleted from my account. I looked at the files and none of those files were created by me. I had no idea they existed and I cannot see any other info as to when they were created. It doesn't even allow me to look what's inside any of those files. The only option is to restore all of them which is not ideal as they look like files created by a hacker with weird domains being the names of the files. I have already changed the password for this account. What are my options here ?19Views0likes1CommentA suspicious file was shared with me, but I can't delete it from my account.
Hi all, I received a very legit-looking email from a colleague (it was from her exact email address, signed off how she would do etc) which had a PDF attached for me to view. When I clicked on the attachment (via my iPhone), it opened my Dropbox app but turned into a Word doc on there (see attached computer screenshot). When I clicked on that (which is what I shouldn't have done!) it went to a Microsoft Outlook login page - needless to say I didn't log in! Now the Word doc (Klip Global.docx) is in my Dropbox account and won't allow me to delete it (it doesn't come up as an option on the '...' ). I have changed my Dropbox password and the TFA method (removing my phone number) but I want this dodgy file to be gone! Any ideas please? Many TIA, AdamSolved62Views0likes3CommentsAll the files on my Dropbox account have 247_Plankton added to the file name, and I can't open them
Just tried to access one of my Excel files stored in Dropbox and it appears every single one of my Dropbox file names have been changed. They all have 247_Plankton added to the file name and the file types have all been changed also so I cannot open any of my files. Any idea what is happening? Did I get hacked????239Views0likes1Comment
