I am going to be traveling for a few weeks and don't want to carry my laptop. I'd like to be able to upload photos from my camera's SD card to Dropbox Camera Downloads via my iPad. However, when I test how to do this the only options for uploading are from Photos. How do I "see" the SD card (connected via a cable) on the iPad in order to upload the pix to Dropbox?

I'd agree with Mark here.

If you can get the images from the SD card on to the iPad then at that point we'll detect them.

This is more of an SD card -> iPad issue. Once it's on the iPad then iOS will pick them up and add them to Photos. Once in Photos then Dropbox will detect and sync them.

You wont be able to with the native Dropbox app I'm afraid - it will only auto upload things within the Photo library.

Not sure if its possible or not, but, can you manually navigate to the folder via the Dropbox app and upload that way?

Due to limitations in iOS I'm not sure it can.

On the Dropbox app you tap the big + . Follow https://www.dropbox.com/help/syncing-uploads/upload-mobile , however, if that doesnt detect the SD card thats a limitation from Apple I'm afraid.
