Re: PDF viewing doesn't work on mobile phones

Users can't open a PDF through shared link on their mobile browsers.

Hi, I created a PDF lead magnet for my business which is 7.88MB in size. People who optin to view the PDF on a mobile device just takes people to a blank dropbox webpage. It works fine on a desktop computer. How do I fix it so my leads can view the PDF on a mobile device?

Hey @JH3264, let's see what we can find about this!

I'm assuming we're talking about a shared link, right?

Does this happen when they try to preview it using a specific browser, or have they tried with a different one too? If you try to open the link using an incognito tab, what do you see on your end?

Keep me posted!

You can see for yourself what happens when you go to STEP 3 where I have the download on my website here: removed

Hey @JH3264, thanks for your speedy response!

Unfortunately due to privacy & security reasons I can't access the link. If you wish you can always attach some screenshots here, in order for me to have a visual of what you mentioned.

Actually, when I visit the link on my iphone using safari browser, it takes me to the dropbox website that gives the user the option to view the PDF in the dropbox app or in browser which some of my users have been confused about. I would like to be able to provide my users with the ability to go directly to the PDF and have it open in whatever browser they're using when they click the download link on my website. How do I accomplish that?

Hi from me as well, @JH3264. This may not be possible in this scenario.

When a user taps on a shared link to open it, they’ll be given the option to open it on the mobile app or the website (like you also described). They’ll need to select the second option in order to continue and view the contents of the shared link.
