View, download, and export
Need support with viewing, downloading, and exporting files and folders from your Dropbox account? Find help from the Dropbox Community.
I am wanting to share the contents of a folder without others being able to see who else has been invited to review the items in the folder. I am inviting competitors to bid on a project and don't want them to know who else is involved as they rerview or download diligence information.
I would rather not have to set up separate folders for each competitor.
Hi @Bucknutguy, thanks for posting on the Community!
Currently, it isn’t possible to hide members from the same shared folder, so they will be able to see each other and their email addresses.
You could instead share a link to the folder, which gives them anonymous read-only access to the files, and then create a file request, which will go to a different folder, for them to submit their bids.
Hope this info helps!

Hi... I just realized that all members of a folder see each other regardless of their access level. That's problematic. I am unsure that sharing a link is really the right answer. As I understand it, a link can be forward to anyone. No real controls or security. I know that the business account can add a password, but does that really help? If someone forwards a link is it any harder to forward the password too?
Security and privacy are important even for small businesses. Using either solution (the folder with identities visible or the link that can't be controlled) makes it look like I am not even trying to offer even minimal amounts of either. Separate folders is tough too because I am working with 4-hr HD video clips - very large and they would take all day to upload into multiple folders.
Does anyone in the community have a way to solve this? or a best practice that may help? Thank you!
