Download failed - network error

Download failed - network error

I've been having a lot of trouble downloading files from Dropbox. I always get "Failed - network error".

The file is less than 1 GB, so it's NOT an issue with the file size. I've tried using incognito mode. Same errors.

Here's what happens. I start to download it. It begins, and downloads a certain amount (sometimes a few MG, sometimes a few dozen MG) and then it always stops, "Failed - network error." I click on it to resume. It starts again. It downloads a few more MG, and then gets stuck again, "Failed- network error." Typically I get to about 200MG doing this.

THEN it fails completely, stated, "failed - Forbidden." (When I tried it using Edge, it said I didn't have permission... which is odd because I had permission for the first 200MG or so.)

This is using Chome. I've had the same issues when I tried it using Edge. I've tried it on two different computers and had the same issues on both computers. This has been happening to me over several consecutive days.

After TWO HOURS of trying this, and repeatedly clicking "resume" I was eventually able to download a single 500MG file when I got through the whole process without getting the "forbidden" message. My attempts to get another similar size file have so far failed.

I'm pulling my hair out here.

I'm having this same issue and I see that a lot of people are. I have tried all the "fixes" the mods suggest. No antivirus, not an overly big file, have tried in multiple browsers with and without incognito. I can download it perfectly using my old laptop on the same internet connection with the same link using the same browser. This began when I got an iMac with Monterey but I'm using the same browser versions. Did the mods fix your problem, Jon?

I'm getting the same error. An artist sent me the link to download an album. The total folder size is 1.8 GB with 12 individual files contained within it. I successfully downloaded 6 of the 12 and suddenly I can no longer download any of those remaining. Once it fails I cannot restart the download, either.

Hi @51514brad, it isn't possible to resume a failed download on the Dropbox site. Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?

Are you getting a specific error message when attempting to download the files?
