Does Dropbox have upload and download limits?

Are there traffic limits on uploading to or downloading from a  Dropbox account? In terms of total GB/day ingress and egress traffic.

Also, what are the upload/download rate limits (MB/s) for access via third party apps or Dropbox sync client? I like to see the speed of upload and download from Dropbox servers.

Hey marc1234, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.

Download/upload limits on the Dropbox website do exist, but on a 'per upload/download' level, not on a 'per day' level.

There is a daily bandwidth limit, though, when downloading files from shared links, or uploading files to file requests.

The desktop client doesn't set limits on syncing speeds.

Let me know if you have any questions!

      Thanks for your reply.

      • To clarify, when I download a directory through dropbox.com website, it's turned into a zip file and downloaded. How large this zip file can be with paid plans?                                                                                                                                                                               It's stated here  https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/sync-uploads/download-entire-folders that, you can only download a folder if it’s less than 20 GB and has fewer than 10,000 total files. Is this information up-to-date?
      • How about downloading content using dropbox sync client: Are there limits on the size of one file or total number/size of files?
      • How much is the upload file size limit?

        Not a problem, Marc!

As for your questions, the download limit is the same for all our plans (free and paid) and it's 20 GB.

The desktop client does not have any upload/download size limits.

And the upload limit for the website is 50 GB.

You can see more info in the articles I hyperlinked in my previous reply.
