My Dropbox folder is taking up a lot of space on my computer

Hello:

Shortly after I got a new computer, I keep getting messages that my hard drive is full.  so when I check the storage it is my Dropbox folder using all the space:

and when I go to the website, I have 2T space available:

So, my 2 questions are:

  1. I obviously do NOT need 2T space, so can I change my subscription to give me less space?
  2. How can I remove the Dropbox folder off my hard drive and only use the website?  I changed the setting to "available online only" but I do not really know exactly what that means.  I did not seem to change the space - maybe I have to restart the computer?

Thanks,

smblock

    Hi smblock

2TB is the smallest subscription you can have via Dropbox. All plans available are at www.dropbox.com/plans

If you do not want to have Dropbox folder on your machine just uninstall the app and then if needed delete the folder (after making sure you have saved anything you want!)
