Storage Space

I have a lot of files I can access through the website but not through the desktop app. How do I force the files to sync to my device?
I finally used the "nuclear option"; I uninstalled Dropbox, rebooted and reinstalled Dropbox. All seems well at the moment; there may have been something wrong with my copy of Dropbox, since the new installation seems to work. You can close this case for now.
They should automatically be there as long as Dropbox is running.
If you mouse over the Dropbox icon on the status bar does it give any errors?
