Basic account maximum referral limit.

The Dropbox website is a little ambiguous. It says "Dropbox Basic users earn 500 MB of free storage per referral, up to 16 GB." Does this mean the total maximum is 16 GB - i.e. including one's initial 2GB or does it mean that one add on 16GB to one's basic account thus ending up with a total of 18GB?

  • Hey slamtry, I hope you're doing well!

Also, what a great question that got me thinking and searching! 😉

Considering that the maximum number of people you can refer is 32 that would be 16GB with 2GB of the Basic space on top of it, which equals to 18GB.

If you have any questions, give me a shout!

      Megan,

Since you actually work for Dropbox, I assume this is final and I can trust your answer is correct. Many thanks.
