Mobile app: actual discretion and privacy, persistent and by default

The security features of Dropbox are decent, but what's the point if every time I open the app on a phone or tablet, practically every file is displayed!?! Recent files. Suggestions (Really? I don't need a recommendation - they are my files!). Shared files, starred files, etc. - everything displayed with file names and previews... even if the files are buried in folders. Sure, you can change everything about the view every time you log in (although the only way to get an effectively blank home screen is to never take files offline, turn off everything in the palette except offline files, and then save the views, since you can't turn off all the items and save)... but once you log out and log back in, it's all back. Why don't my settings and view persist on my mobile account? It also feels like it's getting worse with each update, as if the objective is to make the app some kind of bulletin board of your private files for everyone in the vicinity. I didn't even know these forums existed until I started looking for answers to turning these 'features' off, and I discovered here a multitude of users on these forums asking for the same things, rather than the opposite 'features' we get. Dropbox staff often respond with the temporary fixes outlined above, but seem content to ignore the real fix these users are requesting.

I've used Dropbox for many years, but in a limited way until now. Recently, however, I've been looking into premium options for secure file storage and backup for myself, my family, and my business - I guess the answer for now is just to look elsewhere? This can't be hard to implement.
