Changing the owner on files in DropBox

I am helping Barbara18 who had her Apple ID stolen, her email was at apple, so now the email no longer work.  Dropbox files are owned by the Non-working email account. And her new account has only edit capabilites.  She was able to get in but it seems there are things you have to be owner on to do in Dropbox.  Is this right?  If so is there a way to change ownership?  The account was updated with a new email, but it only has edit capability.

The owner of a shared folder can make another member the new owner.

If the account that owns the folder can no longer be accessed, there's no way to change the owner. In such a case, you would need to start a new shared folder and move the content from the old folder to the new folder, then re-invite anyone that needs access.
