It almost certainly possible to remove it. You need to get access to the email to get the code I'm afraid. Otherwise you have no proof that you own the account.

1 photo of the things I uploaded with her Dropbox email address.
Her Dropbox email address and Google email address is similar.

Government ID for verification.You can try contacting Support, but that often doesn't matter. Access to the email address is often the only thing they'll accept as proof of ownership.
To contact Support, visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for sign in issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.
