Hi Everybody,
I've spoken with our Engineering team about this, who have confirmed that the 'Attach from Dropbox' option no longer being available is the result of an update to the Android OS and Gmail app, specifically Storage Access Framework. This means that the option to Attach from Dropbox will no longer be available.
As others have stated, to attach files, you will need to select Attach File in Gmail, open the hamburger menu on the left, select Dropbox, then choose the files to be uploaded.

Thanks for the update here, SM119.
Can you check that you're on the latest version of the Dropbox app, and that you have at least 500 mb of free storage on your phone for the app to work correctly as well?

Yes and yes
- SM1192 years agoHelpful | Level 5For a brief moment the attachment shows successful then it disappears and says failed. That's it. Nothing to screenshot unless you're the flash.

I hit the little paper clip in the email and go to the drop box option, search for a folder and then find the file and click on it. The file briefly shows up underneath the body of the text in the Gmail app and then says "cannot attach file". I can go to the Dropbox folder and share to the Gmail app. However, I cannot keep the same thread in the Gmail going because I cannot attach files from Dropbox when needed. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Someone needs to just take the bull by the horns and do the Right Thing for the customer, and no one will until it starts hurting their reputation or their sales.

Hi all, I just wanted to mention that the team are aware and looking into this.
In the meantime, you should be able to send files via email from the share option in the Dropbox app.

sharing the file, is just tht, sharing the enture file, I just want to share the document. The whole file is not what I want to send. Does anyone have any idea when this will be resolved? It really cuts into my business and time and I am now very weary waiting for resolution.
