lost access to desktop folder (Dropbox Backup folder) after deleting dropbox
Hi
I used to have Desktop as my Dropbox backup folder. After deleting Dropbox, I cannot access my Dropbox folder or undo choosing desktop as a backup folder. Even after reinstalling Dropbox, I cannot change it or choose Desktop again as a backup folder. The desktop says there is a permission issue even though Dropbox is given full access to the disk.
How cannot undo using Desktop as backup folder so I restore access to this folder?
Thank you!

Hi there mahdidolphin - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you please try adjusting your backup settings through the desktop app's preferences under the Backups tab and let me know how it goes?
If you still get an error, please send us a screenshot so that we can have a visual too.
Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

Hi,
Thank you for your reply and happy new year!
I’m using Mac OS. When reinstalling Dropbox and go to backup I do not see Desktop selected as back up. It appears that when I reinstall I cannot access or change the previous setting (before I deleted the Dropbox app).
Best

Happy New Year from me as well, mahdidolphin!
If you go here, can you see a backup of your Desktop folder? Please send over a screenshot of what you see on that page.
