Which device is deleting files

Which device is deleting files

Hi!

When I look at deleted files  I see that they are deleted from PC (9), is there a way to learn more, like the name and ip of this computer. Under security I have a list of computers, but with their full name, not the PC(1) or Mac(3) nickname. Under same account.

Thanks

What about if you view the version history of one of the deleted files after you restore it. Does it show the device name there when you hover over the Desktop wording?

Hi @kleep, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If you're viewing the devices page from the Dropbox site on a desktop browser, you can hover your mouse over the i icon which will show the IP address, version number, and the current OS it's running.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

Hi @Jay,

Thank you for your answer. The devices page doesn't show the arbitrary (ie Mac (9)) names, so it's no use in this case.

Could you attach a screenshot showing the devices page on the desktop version of the site?

Hi @Jay,

You are right, it works in version history -> deleted file -> "desktop" and you have to hover over this specific word.

Also in deleted files one can hover over the Mac(9) keyword and it shows the computer name.

A real point and click adventure.
