Trying to Access Folder That Is On My Desktop But Not Online

I recently removed dropbox from my desktop to have more space on my computer. As I was trying to access my files, I realized some items did not transfer over. I can see them in my Microsoft word recent, but not my dropbox online. I tried to redownload the app, but still no changes. Is there a way to access my missing Folders?

Hi there @CB23 - sorry to hear about this.

When you say you removed Dropbox from your desktop, I'm assuming you uninstalled the desktop app - right? Did you also delete your Dropbox folder upon that process or do you have a local copy of it on your computer at the moment?

Do you see any signs of your missing files in your events page by any chance? This is the place where all uploads, edits, and deletions are normally logged so it should give you a hint.

Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there.

Thank you for your response. No I didn’t delete the folder but I did only save it to Dropbox. When I went to my Microsoft word, all the documents are still visible in my recently opened but says I cannot open them due to no access. I cannot find the folder or even search for the documents in Dropbox though.

Hi @CB23, if you can't locate the content in any the pages that Walter provided above, that means they were never synced to Dropbox in the first place.

When was the last time -if ever- that you saw these files online?
