Lost files from many years ago

Lost files from many years ago

Hi there,
I haven’t used Dropbox in years. At some point I had files of pictures a friend shared. She lost her camera and no longer have these pictures. Would there be any way to recover the files removed by Dropbox? I would even pay to be an upgrade user. Any help would greatly be appreciate.

Hi @Carmcc01, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Do you see the missing files in the events page or deleted files page?

Upgrading to a plan wouldn't help to recover any files if they're not visible on those pages, or if you're outside the recovery period for your plan.

Any info will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay,

No, I was hoping there would be a work around to restoring missing files. Kinda bummed that there isn’t an option. Thank you.

Hi @Carmcc01, you mentioned that you haven't used Dropbox in years.

It sounds like your old account might have been deleted due to inactivity, which would then result in the content of the account also getting lost. Could that be the case?

If you need anything else, we'll be happy to assist.

Then would there be any solution around this?

Hi @Carmcc01, I'm afraid not, I just wanted to shine some light as to why this might have happened.
