Hi,

I would like to seek help on how to check the logs further, as a member was removed from a folder but cannot find any logs who removed her from the Activity logs.
She can view folder shared with her and its contents, but yesterday her name suddenly been missing, and we would like to find out how did it happened.

Thank you.

Hi @Richard Anthony, welcome to our Community, and let's jump into this!

Are we referring to a Team folder, or a shared folder inside the user's personal space?

You also mentioned that she can view the folder. Is she looking locally at the web, or at her desktop app?

If you could also clarify the exact plan you're currently using, that'd be lovely, thanks!

I'll be waiting for your response, Richard!

Hi Megan,

Thanks for your reply, we are using Dropbox Advance or Business plus, the one with 5TB per user.
It's actually a team folder... she was able to view the folders and files until the other day, she feedbacks that we could no longer see the folders, upon checking from the Activity at the Admin Console, her name is no longer inside the list of members who can view/access that folder.

Is there any other way to check? As I can't find anything related to the removal of her from the shared folder/files...

Thank you.

Hi @Richard Anthony, is it possible that the folder got restricted

Could you also check the events page, to see if it helps at all?

The Events page at www.dropbox.com/events gives you an overview of all activity in your account including files events (adds/edits/deletes), as well as adding or removing shared folders.

Hi Megan,

Thanks for your advice, I've also checked this activity/event page and for any rights changes and even explored other things like checking activity for the Removed User/Group from shared file/folder etc.

But I couldn’t find her name or the folder in question. I’ve broaded my search until 1 Nov 2023 for anything I can find about permission change or folder restriction, etc., but I didn’t find anything related to that folder or her name.

The issue was found and highlighted on 21 Nov.

Based on the Activity, she previewed files and/or folders until 16 Nov.

Would there be anything else that can help me to check it further?

Thanks and have a nice day.

Hey @Richard Anthony, just to confirm, have you taken a look at the activity tab in your admin console, by specifically adding the "sharing" activity in the "activities" section, to see what you can find out?
