Hi,
Something new happen recently when I was deleting some files. When I delete something from my Dropbox, I get a notice that they're moving the files to the Recycle Bin and then another prompt that asks me if I want to remove those files from all the devices connected to the dropbox. The new thing that happen is the last prompt now contains what appears to be Chinese characters. (Picture attached) I've reinstalled the Dropbox on both devices connected and that hasn't fixed the issue. Does anybody know what this is or how do I fix this? I haven't seen it when using any other program. The characters doesn't appear on the "moving files to the recycle bin" prompt but only on the prompt that comes after which is asking if I want to remove the files from the other connected devices. Also the Chinese characters aren't always in the same location. Sometimes they're beside the Dropbox at the top of the prompt and sometimes they on the "Delete Everywhere" button.
Hi. Thank you, Mark. I think several people have confirmed that it happens with Windows 7 Pro. Also, that is the Dropbox version I'm running (190.4.6383) and the issue persists.
Hi Mark - I'm on 190.4.6383
Hi everyone,
Thanks for flagging this.
Confirming here that these are ''garbaged'' characters appearing in the local delete dialogue.
Our team is aware and working on it (and they should not be harmful).
We'll keep you updated once we've cleared them.
Thanks!
Sam
Yep! That's me too. W7 Pro DB 190.4.6383
Happening with me too - W7 Home premium DB 190.4.6383
It has also started happening to me. I thought it was something serious but after a review no cause for alarm, they should work on it
Hi there, today I have discovered the same by deleting something from the Dropbox!!! Strange, as far as I can see is this problem already more than 2 weeks old an still not solved!!!
Hi there @AM777,
We expect a fix to be rolled out in our next stable version (192).
I'll make sure to share more news here.
Thanks for bearing with us,
Sam
Hi Sam
Will our version be automatically updated?
Kindest
Bob H
HI @flatpaxabia, the update should come through automatically when it is available.
Otherwise, you could download it manually from this page, when you see the 192.4 stable version.
