Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
My desktop is maxed out on storage, I couldn't even download and install the DropBox file uploader thingy. But, I was able to upload them through the website.
Can I now delete the file from my desktop to free up space? I have read conflicting answers on this.
Hi @MeggieRae, welcome to our Community!
Just to clarify: do you wish to delete the Dropbox installer from your desktop, or other files you might be having there, that take up space?
In any case, if you're not using our Backup feature, you should be able to delete your content, without any issue, and as for the installer, that wouldn't be a problem either.
If you have any questions, let me know!

I have not installed the dropbox thing yet since I don't have any space. I want to delete the files I uploaded to dropbox from my desktop via the dropbox webpage. I dragged and dropped the file to dropbox. I don't have auto backup installed.
Got it @MeggieRae!
Then you should be good at deleting any content, especially since they have been uploaded using the website, with no Backup enabled.
I hope this clarifies!
