Upload error: file name too long

I'm trying to upload files but am randomly getting error message saying "the filename for file "x" is too long". It seems to be random, with some file names uploading fine that are actually longer than the ones being cited as a problem. Looking to see if anyone else has encountered this.

What operating system are you on? Can you provide a screenshot of the full window showing the exact error message? If so, be sure to mask any private information.

If you're on Windows, there is a file name length limit of 256 characters within the operating system, but that includes the full path to the file starting with the drive letter (218 characters for Excel) and a null character at the end. I'm not sure if that's what you're running in to so the screenshot will help.

Thanks for clarifying that for us woodwardjohn

Could you also send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting so that we can have a visual too?
