Today I received the same message (copied and pasted below). It's the first time I have ever received a message like this. The strange thing is that the usage noted in the message is different from my actual usage. Is it legitimate?
This email is an automated notification from Dropbox letting you know that your Public links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic.
Upgrade your Dropbox account today to increase the total amount of traffic your link and file requests can generate.
For more information on suspended links, please visit the Help Center. Your current account bandwidth limit is 20.00 GB and your current usage is 29.72 GB. If this is your first suspension, you may remove the suspension by clicking this link otherwise please visit the Help Center.
Happy Dropboxing!

Hey scanner -it sounds like your shared links were banned.
Note that the bandwidth/traffic your shared links generate is not to be confused with your account's quota.
Also, note that all the legitimate emails would come from an official Dropbox domain.
I hope this helps!
