Must be a glitch. It worked last month and now the option is gone.

Hey Sam, I am wondering whether Dropbox decided to reinstate the QR code feature back in the function. This QR code is very useful for sharing easily for the invitees to just snap and enter the link easily. Some organizations do not allow internet access in their workplaces. Hence having the QR code, they can view the files using their mobile phones. Hope to hear some updates, please. Thanks!

Please make more careful consideration and add the QR codes back. Terrible decision.

This is unfortunate. Being able to create a QR directly from Dropbox is what incentivized me to move totally to Dropbox from Onedrive. Any chance this can be added in the future? Also, what about the QR codes already created, how long will they work for? - April

Hey aprilm - thanks for your feedback on this.
When it comes to your concern, note that technically QR codes never expire per se, it's just a form of visualizing a URL, understandable by any QR reader.
However, the permissions for a QR code linking to Dropbox content are based on the sharing settings you choose when you generate the link for viewing, and it can make an impact if QR code let you see that content or not.
I hope this clears things up a tad!

Thank you! Can we create a petition to bring back QR codes? Ha! But seriously?

it was very helpful, and more usable then links, that have always very long names and not understandable to the person you want to share the folder.

LOVED the QR code feature! It was SO convenient for folder share, especially in my classroom whose attendee vary from time to time. Why have you removed it? l do you be bringing it back!
- Sanchez Homes9 months agoHelpful | Level 5Hello Sam. Why would this feature be removed?

Hi Sanchez Homes ,
Unfortunately, I can't fully comment on our Product Team's decisions, but I can confirm that we've run the QR Codes on Web as an experiment. We are still monitoring feedback and passing it along internally, if anything changes, we'll update the Community!

Please consider this some more. The QR code will make the access to shared files so much easier. Every professional in the workplace has a phone and for them to be able to snap the QR code and be directed to the content they need to see digitally on the spot is huge. So many applications for a QR code to stream line and make the process of sharing and accessing shared content faster.
My 5 cents.
