I sent a password protected link to a colleague for her to review the files in that folder. When she clicked the link, she got a message that dropbox needs to confirm her identity. I have pasted the snip she sent me below. Is this legit multi-factor authentication thing or some phishing stuff? If it is legit, does she put in her actual email? Thank you in advance.
Hi @Rodzlla , thanks for contacting us! What's the value of your "Who can access" setting for the link you sent? See screenshot, ignore "Team members" if you're not on a team plan.
Thanks for helping me out here, Haoli. Who Can Access is set to "Anyone with link".
Does she have an email already registered with Dropbox, if so, she could use that email; If not, can she try the "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple" option to sign in?
So this is legit message and she should move ahead using her email address? We are all hearing about these phishing schemes and identity theft troubles. I do not want her to have problems.
