Re: Problem with setting HD to sync

I can't get my hard drive to sync after disconnecting it from my PC

Yesterday I disconnected my HD from PC, now, this HD is not synced with dropbox online anymore.

I went to configurations, and chose this HD to be synced. However, it show an error, saying that "a copy already exist".
Which it does, because it was the HD i was using before.
I'm not sure whats should I do.

When you reinstalled the Dropbox desktop application, did you perform an advanced reinstallation to get the option in the advanced settings to locate the Dropbox folder on the external drive?

Hi @raphagari, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Just for clarification, are you referring to an external drive that you disconnected from the computer?

Is this the same computer you previously had it connected to? Have you enabled the Dropbox Backup feature, or is your Dropbox folder located on the drive?

This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay.

Same computer, same external disk.
My dropbox folder is located on the drive.

When I logged in again, it was assigned to the internal HD.
And when I try to assign to the previous HD (external) it says "cant be done".

It says the HD has a dropbox.cache already.
So I deleted, and still cant assign.
