How can I deactivate the unwanted Backup feature?

How can I deactivate the unwanted Backup feature?

Hello,

My storage space with the Basic plan is almost gone due to the backup. I've never indicated that I wanted to back up anything on my local system. How may I deactivate the option, which I cannot find anywhere in the account settings? All I need to do is to share the files with my team.

THIA.

190 MB is more than enough.

I just wondered why I ended up having the backup of whatever it was for, even without my knowledge. I just wondered if I goofed up something during the setup, etc... If you don't know the reason, I'd just celebrate the fact that it finally worked!

Thanks.

Hi @Nancy,

Thank you for your quick reply. I've seen this solution, but I don't have such a tab, like the Sync and Backup tabs on the app installed on my PC.
Here is the screenshot.

Is there any other way?
(I tried to delete many files on my system, but did not help much.)

TIA.

It's under Preferences.

Hi Rich,

Thank you for your help.
I still cannot find the Sync and Backup option under Preferences > Backup.

Hey @Akiko Sasaki-Summers, are you on the same device that you used when setting your Backup?

If you click "Manage Backups" what do you see there?

Thank you, Megan.

This is, I believe, the same device that this app was set up in this machine. (The account was set up in another PC, I believe.)

Unfortunately, I do not have such tab, as indicated in the help page. (I've already gone through and checked many times before having posted here...)

It feels irrelevant to what I'm trying to do here.

Thanks for your help.

Hey @Akiko Sasaki-Summers, can you please visit the following page, and let me know if you can disable the feature from there?

While logged in your account, in this page you will see all of your backups and you should be able to delete the backup in question.

Thank you, Megan, for providing the link. Yes, this resolved the issue. Now, my dropbox is using less than 190 MB.
Was there anything I missed while setting up the account on this newer PC? (I've never had this problem before.)

Thank you again, Megan!

Hi @Akiko Sasaki-Summers, glad we managed to tackled that one!

As for the 190MB you mentioned, is this too little? What do you mean when you say if there was anything you missed while setting up your account?
