Files are only visible online, and won't sync down to my computer

Hi,

I have selected a folder to be synced offline. I can see the folder on my local computer, but i cannot see documents in the folder. Online in dropbox the documents are visible in the selected folder. I have tried everything (even setting up a dropbox folder from scratch on my computer) but the documents are still not made visible on my local computer, while they are visible online.

Please help?

Best Frederik

Hi @Fred1981, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Do the files have any incompatible characters in the filenames? Have you tried renaming the files?

Symbols like | and : cannot be read by Windows machines, so the Dropbox desktop application won't attempt to sync any files or folders with them in it.

This will help me to assist further!
