Filename Convention Questions about filenames, and how they're going to sync.

In the naming conventions it states that periods (.) are not allowed in filenames. I am looking for a data sharing solution for my company but we have thousands of filenames that have dates that use a period as a separator such as "To-do 08.08.2023.pdf". What will happen when this file is synced? Will it sync the file as-is, will it replace the periods with a dash (or similar), will it skip over it and not sync the file, or will it trigger an alert and stop syncing altogether? I asked this question to my sales rep and but she wasn't able to satisfactorily answer my question.

Also, what happens if DropBox comes across a file that exceeds the number of characters (including folders)? Will it skip the file, or will it stop syncing altogether?

I appreciate your help with this. I desperately need a viable alternative to OneDrive and DropBox is at the top of the list.

Thank you,

It will sync as-is. I know the help article says not to use periods in file names, but I have plenty of file with a period in the name (and not counting the one for the file's extension) and they sync just fine.
