Re: Dropbox update after Mac update?

Dropbox not syncing after Mac update?

I updated my Mac this morning. Now, when I go to my Dropbox file in Finder, it is still there, but many of the new folders I created and stored certain files are not longer there. The files are, but the folders into which I stored them are not there anymore. Having said that, all the correct folder appropriations are in my online Dropbox account. Do I need to do something to sync the online dropbox with my Mac app dropbox? If so, how? Thank you.

Hi @oilerblue, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Is the Dropbox desktop application currently running and visible in the menu bar?

Do the files and folders in the Dropbox folder have any sync icons on them?

This will help me to assist further!

Thanks, Jay, for responding. The dropbox app is open and the icon is at the top right of the chrome menu bar on my Mac. No sync icons. Can I attach a screenshot to this chat?

Yes, please attach a screenshot showing the Dropbox folder in Finder, while hiding the file names, all we need to see are where the sync icons should appear.

Likewise, what is the sync status in the Dropbox desktop application when you click the app icon in the menu bar?

Hey @oilerblue - sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that you can attach a screenshot in your reply through the camera icon (insert photo option) within your reply's box.

Thanks for the screenshot, @oilerblue.

Can you also hover your mouse over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and let us know the sync status and version of the app?
