Can I see who and when my folders or files have been downloaded if I share a link to someone?

When I share a link with another person, can I see who downloaded my files and when? Is there any kind of download journal?

Hey vipere66, thanks for posting your question to our Community today!

With shared links, there's no way to keep track of who or how many times a file was downloaded.

However, you should be able to see the number of views and downloads for a file, if you share it with Dropbox transfer.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks a lot for your swift reply, Hannah!

How to distinguish if a link was shared with DROPBOX TRANSFER for the person who receives the link?

      Thanks!

        Not a problem!

The person receiving the transfer link will see the "Dropbox Transfer" name and logo at the top left corner of the page, after clicking on the transfer link, so they'll be able to tell it apart from a shared link.
