Re: Camera upload not working - pixel 6 update 14

Camera upload not working - pixel 6 update 14

Since updating to Android 14 on pixel 6 our camera uploads are not syncing automatically.  We can upload manually.  Setting in phone says that dropbox has permission to upload from the camera app.  Same issue with 2 phones, both started having issues following being updated.

Anyone else with this issue solved it?

Thanks

1. In Android Settings, go to Apps. Select Dropbox.

2. Click "Force Stop".

3. Click "Permissions".

4. Click on "Photos and Videos".

5. Select "Don't Allow".

6. Restart Dropbox. Open Dropbox Settings.

7. Click on Camera Uploads.

8. Dropbox will ask you for permission again. Select "Allow All".

9. Done. It's fixed.

This is a known bug with Dropbox after one upgrades to Android 14.

I'm having the same problem with my Pixel 7. Also, the photo naming convention has reverted back to the ancient "PXL..." format.

Thanks! That worked.

I also have the same problem. The Dropbox app says to allow permissions to storage to be able to upload camera photos, but I have all permissions enabled. This is on a Pixel 7a and it was working fine until the Android 14 update 1-2 weeks ago. It appears this is an Android 14 bug unless there is some other trick we don't know yet.

Hi all, thanks for reporting this!

Also, thank you for sharing these steps @James S.5

Hey @DropFactor, have you tried the steps, James provided above? And if so, what was the result?

Keep me posted!

This fixed my problem.

Does anybody know if this is permanent or if I reboot my phone do I have to do this again?

Also, as another poster indicated, the filenames uploaded have changed to "PXL....." rather than the old date-based names "2023-10-28...".
