Allow Team Admin to manage "Online Only" settings globally for all Team folders
My team consists of 4 other members, in a distributed environment, one of whom is also a Team Admin.
None of my team is technically adept and none of them fully understand how the Dropbox App works vs the browser. Or why they would even go into the browser version. In fact, I don't want them to have to go there - it interrupts our work flow and the interface is different yet again to how it all displays in the Dropbox App.
We work in 100% of the time in the Dropbox App. All of my team needs to have a file listing in their Dropbox App of all of the files and folders they have access to, by default preferably. So the setting provided to not sync automatically was actually a detriment as my team members did not understand they needed to set up selective sync. I can't set files to sync automatically due to local diskspace challenges - in the case that one of the team members allows everything to sync without changing the properties of every single folder to "online only"
We have used paid accounts for years, but recently moved to Dropbox for Teams when we added 2 more members.
I was under the mistaken impression that part of the central administration was to allow me to manage what files were synced to computers.
I know the option is available - but it doesn't work well for us. By setting all file and folders not to sync automatically, it meant I had to still work with each team member to do that additional step of setting them all to "Online Only". So rather than saving time and trouble, we're in the same boat as with the multiple individual paid accounts. So disappointing.
Please add an option to set files and folders "Online Only" in the Admin Console so that I can set all files and folders to be "Online Only" and then I can use the "sync automatically" setting.

Hi there Nancy M.40, thanks for posting on our Community and happy Monday!
Could you have a look at this article and this one and let us know if they help achieve what you had in mind?
To do this, you could try putting the default for the folders to be selectively synced to the computer as well as enforcing the default sync to be online only.
I hope this helps!

Thank you. That appears to solve my issues.
Much appreciated.
