Hey @robertcohen, would you mind letting us know what didn't work exactly with the advanced reinstall steps that Walter suggested above?
Those steps should help you with wiping the previous rights.

I cannot delete the folder so I renamed it. However, I would like to delete the empty folders off my laptop that Dropbox created and locked me out. I tried inheriting the rights and taking ownership be no success at all. The managed to install dropbox after renaming the folder but I cannot delete the old files which are stuck on my computer
Do you get any specific errors when trying to delete the old Dropbox folder @robertcohen?
If so, would you mind sending us a couple of screenshots of the error message, in order for us to have a visual too?

You should be able to attach it using the camera-like icon @robertcohen when trying to respond back to us.

Hey Robert, do you mean that you're not able to save your screenshot to Dropbox or that your computer can't take screenshots at all?
You can try this as well.

You should be able to see options for all kinds of devices, if you click on "Other".
