Apps and Installations

Running this OS I have found that that Dropbox application would not start automatically. I removed the existing Dropbox app and attempted to reinstall it, but found that the installer would not open. I've re-downloaded the installation package from your web site, and restarted the computer, but the problem persists.
Hi @ewnesi, it seems like you still have the Dropbox desktop application installed on your machine if it is appearing in the activity monitor.
If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?

Hey @Newnesi, how are you today?
Do you notice a specific error, or pattern?
Is the app stuck when you try to sign in, or does it remain unresponsive?
Let me know more.

The Dropbox app would run and seemed to function correctly, but despite checking the preference for it to startup at login, it didn't do this.
Since then I've tried deleting the app (which worked) and reinstalling it, which didn't. The dmg package would not open and so whatever installer that is on there was not available.
If I run Dropbox from a Dropbox web page, it seems to run, and a number processes named Dropbox are listing in Activity Monitor (screenshot attached). These processes mostly don't run unless Dropbox is opened from a webpage.
Hey @Newnesi - sorry to jump in here, but can you clarify what you mean when you say that you're running the app via a web page?
Also, note that the operating system you are running is not currently a fully tested or supported environment for the Dropbox desktop application since it's still in beta, so we might be limited to what we can suggest here.

Many thanks for your comments.
I posted this because I thought the behaviour might be related to the OS beta and it could be helpful.
The other question you ask relates to where Dropbox is started from. I have to say I find this very hard to follow myself so perhaps my confusion is clouding thing.
As far as I can tell, I have no Dropbox app installed on my computer. When first logging in, Dropbox can be started from a link on a Dropbox web page. Once this happens, it appears that Dropbox is running and a number of processes with Dropbox in the name show up in the activity monitor. The number of these increases (see screenshot) with time.
Something does not seem to be right here.
