Gnome 43 has removed

libnautilus-extension.so.1

making it impossible to install Dropbox on Fedora 37. Please update the rpm installer to make use of the changes in gnome 43.

For reference: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/t/official-dropbox-package-doesnt-install-in-fedora-37/27296

Here is a link to an open pull request to make the necessary changes: https://github.com/dropbox/nautilus-dropbox/pull/105

So does it show on Nautilus?

That's what is missing with FC 37

Hi @yendrrek, I hope you're doing well!

Can you let me know more in regards to your issue? Do you have a problem installing the app, or maybe connecting? In any case, any added info is more than welcome.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi, I've got exactly the same issue as the users above. Dropbox stopped working in Fedora 37.

@Megan, can you let @yendrrek know how you have installed Dropbox application through official Dropbox repository on a fresh Fedora 37? 😉 Step by step walkthrough would be much more clear! By the way... did you do it actually? 🧐🤔 If no, try it and let us know how it goes. 🙂 Please!

For those out of the loop, the fix by coreyberla (thanks a lot!) was merged by a Dropbox dev a couple of days ago and a new release is supposed to be coming soon.

If you add

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
reboot

to your repos,  there is a flatpack that will restore functionality until the Dropbox fix.

Commands are from Debugpoint.com article.

The dnf output is for Fedora 35.

The complaint is about Fedora 37.

My specific problem.

  F37 desktop machine.

F37 laptop.

Dropbox does *not* sync between the two machines. Both up to date.

Nautilus pretties help, but basic syncing is essential, i.e. what we are paying for.

Please fix.
