Hello everyone!
This Dropbox app scaling issue has been brought to my attention. The issue can be resolved by making DPI scaling adjustments directly to the Dropbox application without making the change to your complete system.
Please follow the steps below to make these changes.- Open Windows File Explorer, then copy and paste this file path in the search bar:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Client - Right-click on the Dropbox application in this folder
- Select Properties and then click the Compatability tab.
- Select Change high DPI settings
- Check the box labeled Override High DPI scaling behavior
- Then, click the drop down menu and be sure that System (Enhanced) is selected.
- Click Apply to save the changes.
- Restart your machine and open Dropbox from the system tray.
Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused. Please let us know if there are any further issues after making these adjustments.
- Open Windows File Explorer, then copy and paste this file path in the search bar:

That fix also was also the fix for some other applications I've had similar issues with on other computers.
Thanks!! - John O.112 years agoHelpful | Level 5
Of course the obvious solution is to enable the user to move the window to anywhere on the screen they want it. Like any other window!

Update:
Iliana-DBX's idea worked initially but the problem is back and it seems to get worse the more times you click on the dropbox icon to display the menu. Each time the icon is clicked, the menu display moves a tiny bit to the right and stays that way.
Problem on laptop: Dropbox version: 188.4.6302 on WIndows 10 x64
- screen resolution: 1920 x 1080, scaled 175%
Is Ok on desktop: Dropbox version: 188.4.6302 on WIndows 10 x64
- screen resolution: 1920 x 1080, normal scale (100%)
_____________
My problem is on a laptop Windows 10 x 64, in which the problem is horizontal positioning, too far too the right so it goes partially off-screen. Vertical is ok.
_____________
Thanks Iliana-DBX, your solution worked for me. Just noting that a full shutdown is needed; logging off or hibernating is not sufficient.

Screenshot from laptop showing it's horizonally off the screen to the right.

Another update - has Windows 10 scaling changed?
I tried changing display scaling on my laptop back down to 100%, then change it back to the setting I had been using for a few years. Now the display is way too large. I put it back to 100% again and the Dropbox dialog is displayed fully on screen, properly.
It seems microsoft has changed how scaling works (?).

Worked - mostly. Top bar is truncated, but readable. Thanks.
