Desktop files removed from my computer and Finder keeps crashing after update

Hi ya'll I don't know if this is the correct category to put this under, but today Dropbox, on my Sonoma 14.0 MacBook Pro M1, updated and removed the files from my desktop.

And now finder keeps crashing.

Any advice?

Hey @Neave b., thanks for your post today.

You referring to files you previously backed up to Dropbox, is that right?

Has the Dropbox app finished updating? What do you see when you hover over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar?

Also, if you check the original location of the backed up files on the computer, are you able to see them there?

Let me know what you find.

Hi @Neave b.

Regarding the Finder crashing issue, would you be able to share more details on what that looks like? e.g. perhaps you could share a screenshot (redacted as necessary, if there's any private info)?

Need more support?
