Dropbox Backup
1069 TopicsI see no option to cancel the Backup trial I received via Seagate for my Dropbox account.
I signed up using Seagate's free 6 months trial option, but it just gives 2GB data and says they'll take $70 after trial ends. I don't want that, I want to cancel the subscription trial and delete my account. I am pretty good with technology, so I know how to cancel it but there is no option to do it in dropbox in my account. Nor am I able to delete my credit card details from the account. Kindlly help me with this. By any chance, if any money is taken out from my account, I am definitely gonna sue drop box for delibirately forcing customers to pay for something they don't want. Hi I've got auto backup set to every 15 minutes but Dropbox hasn't backed up since 3 March. When I hover over the Dropbox icon in the notification area, it is stuck on "Indexing dbxignore (1 sec)". I'm running Windows 10 on my Laptop, Dropbox app version 219.4.4463. Things I've tried: Quitting the app. Pressing alt + H and selecting fix hardlinks and fix permissions in preferences>accounts Uninstalling / re-installing the app. What do I need to do to get back to having regular backups? Cheers.35Views0likes5CommentsI need to move my Dropbox folder: how do I disable Backup prior to doing that?
Hi! Before moving my dropbox folder's location, I am told I need to disable backup first. I keep finding instructions to delete a backup, but I don't think it's the same as deleting it. I don't want to delete anything! I just want to move my dropbox folder. TIASolved25Views0likes2CommentsBe able to change Dropbox backup folders names on individual accounts
Add possibility of rename Backup folders. If you have only one computer, it go fine, but if you have more than one, it ends being very confussing. Due iCloud Drive issues, I've changed all of my Macs "synchronized" Desktop and Documents to Dropbox. However, take a look to the picture: It is very difficult to guess what is what. With the possibility to rename them, I could have named "My iMac", "My MBP 13", "My MBP 15". Very easy to see what is what. (As a workaround, we can change to detail view, but could be more easy for all of us be able to change the names).21KViews82likes86CommentsAllow Dropbox Backup to backup a second internal drive
Most of my files (550GB) are stored on a second internal drive D. I planned to use Dropbox Backup to secure them. Unfortunately this does not seem to be possible for the time being. I find this weird since the app already can backup external drives! Leif Andersen, prof., Denmark25Views0likes2CommentsHidden .dropbox_bi folder storing 87GB of files locally!
Hi, I've just recently set up a new Dropbox Professional account. After installing the desktop app on my Mac I also set up a backup of my external SSD, which completed successfully yesterday. Standard Dropbox file sync seems to be working fine, and the Dropbox app says everything is up to date, but for some reason I now have a new hidden folder under my Mac user folder called .dropbox_bi. That folder is storing 87GB of files on my primary SSD, apparently related to the 220GB of data backed up from the external SSD. Is this my life now? Or is there some way to recover that massive waste of precious primary SSD storage space?Solved22KViews2likes92CommentsWhere is the Dropbox backup folder on the mac?
Where is the dropbox backup folder on the mac? I need to back up my hard disk with Carbon Copy Cloner. But when CCC runs, it only pulls an alias file. The actual Documents folder that's now backed up with Dropbox just creates a useless "Documents" folder that has no content on my external drive. This all of the sudden became an issue when I saw my ENTIRE Documents folder was empty in Finder. I looked in Dropbox in a web browser and the files were there. But they appeared to be gone from my computer. No good!!!645Views0likes5CommentsHow do I choose a Backup source that isn't one of the generic pre-listed opions?
When I attempt to set up a backup using TaskbarIcon|Profile|Preferences|Backup, then choose "Mange Backups" in the Windows section, all I'm presented with for backup sources are a few generic folders, like "Documents" and "Desktop", which are of no value to me for Backup, because they're being Synced already. I can't for the life of me figure out how to specify the real drive locations that I need backed up. What am I missing?63Views0likes8Comments
