Hello, everyone.
I want to use the IPA and plist configuration files placed in Dropbox to perform the installation. However, this setup worked correctly with the old version of Dropbox's shared URLs, but it doesn't work with the new version that includes the "rlkey". How should I configure it?
dropbox share url
change to
manifest.plist's url
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/[field_id]/HNSkynet_iOS.ipa?rlkey=vog8wjs271ci26n76zduy4eji
run url
itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=https://dl.dropbox.com/s/[field_id]/HNSkynet_iOS.ipa?rlkey=vwdb1qprzx12q5g37ibwzi7ow
Thanks for response!
Hi @JNLin,
As far as I can see, you have only stripped ending "dl=0". Right? 🧐
Keep in mind that "dl=0" is the default one! If the only thing you do is stripping it, you aren't doing anything in fact. Your link is still the same - nothing changed. This is one mistake in your post.
When you use something as parameter in any URL/URI (including when another URL is in use as a parameter, like in your case), all parameter symbols have to be compatible - i.e. some symbols my make trouble! To avoid possible troubles usually URL encoding is used for all parameters in one or other way. Sometimes the software in use take care for the encoding, but very often buggy software "forgets" to encode properly. In all cases when you provide final link, proper encoding is your responsibility! I cannot see any attempt to encode Dropbox link when passed as 'url' parameter in the wrapping URI. This may prevent proper interpretation! Another mistake here.
Hope this gives direction.
Thanks for reply.
About the URL changes
I have tried the following changes
"https://dl.dropbox.com/s/[field id]/HNSkynet_iOS.ipa"
"https://dl.dropbox.com/s/[[field id]]/HNSkynet_iOS.ipa?rlkey=vog8wjs271ci26n76zduy4eji"
"https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/[[field id]]/HNSkynet_iOS.ipa?rlkey=vog8wjs271ci26n76zduy4eji&st=1h345za3&dl=1"
"itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=https://dl.dropbox.com/s/[field id]/manifest.plist"
"itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=https://dl.dropbox.com/s/[[field id]]/manifest.plist?rlkey=vwdb1qprzx12q5g37ibwzi7ow"
"itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/[[field id]]/manifest.plist?rlkey=vwdb1qprzx12q5g37ibwzi7ow&st=1h345za3&dl=1"
Although some modifications can be automatically downloaded in Chrome, the installation of iTunes cannot be performed normally.
@JNLin, with some you mean those ending with dl=1. Right?
As I said, if such a link is not encoded properly (i.e. the same like you put it in web browser address line), it wouldn't work. Try URL encoding before put the link as parameter. Do you know what is URL encoded? 🧐 If not, just try some web search engine. 😉
Good luck.
