I'm getting a “Can’t display link” error for shared links on my iOS apps since the 9/26 update.

This is a new problem since upgrading my iOS apps to the 9/26/24 version.

On my iPad and iPhone when I click a link to a shared folder (that I do not own) in DropBox from a webpage I now get “Can’t display link”. It worked fine a week ago.

This link has worked fine for several years and the webpage admins insist that they have not changed anything. This link also works fine on my Windows laptop and opens in a browser tab.

but I get the error only on my iPad and iPhone where I also have the DropBox app for iOS installed so clicking the link opens the DropBox app instead of a browser tab. I do not want to uninstall the DropBox app just to see if maybe the link works without the app in place.

I will share a sample link privately, but not here in a community board. Please reach out via email.

Hey PollyInSD! Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

To clarify, this is happening for all shared links you open on your mobile device, correct? Not just a specific shared link that has been sent to you.

Can you send over a screenshot of what you see after tapping on the shared link(s) and one more of the error you keep getting?

Let me know when you’re ready.

I can only think of this one website that has shared links to someone else’s DropBox. Other users of this website have the same problem.
I don’t see how to add a screen shot here. When I click on the link the DropBox app opens, I get a “Loading” message with a spinning square for a second or so, then the “Can’t display link” popup. Under that it says “This link does not exist.” Then an OK button.

Could you clear your browser's cache or try another browser to attach a screenshot in your reply PollyInSD

If you're on a mobile device, you might need to request the desktop version of the website.
