You'll need to access the preferences in the desktop app, click the Backup tab, and then Manage Backup. From there you can remove the Downloads folder from the backup.

Hi all, I just wanted to share an update with you.
This issue can be resolved now by disabling the Dropbox Backup feature for your computer's OS folders and once this is complete, close and relaunch the Dropbox desktop app and re-enable the Dropbox Backup feature anew.
Let us know if this helps!

Hi Walter, I've tried this and it worked! I hope it stays that way for good. Thank you.

Hi Walter,
I followed the instructions and it doesn't seem to be working. I hear the airdrop sound, the downloads on the dock pop up and the downloads folder opens up in Finder, however no files appear.
I'm running Ventura 13.0 and Dropbox v174.3.5690

Hi Walter,
I've tried this several times and can't get it to work. I've verified that airdrop works when backup is not selected. Could it be my version of DB?
I'm on Ventura 13.0 with Dropbox v174.3.5690
