You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.
- Yeah, how about putting back sort by date / sort by name again under the 3 dots on iOS? I'm really angry you decided to remove this feature. Such a simple thing and you thought it was a good idea to take it out? Please put it back.

The "Sort by Date" in iOS is sorely missed, please re-instate.

It wasn't removed. You can still sort by Date Modified. The option is just above the file list on the left side. It will say either Name, Size, Type or Modified.

Why, why, why can I not view my list of files within a folder by UPLOAD date?! Example of issue caused by this MASSIVE flaw with Dropbox: client uploads a large batch of photos to a folder, I download and photo edit for placement in a document. Subsequently the client randomly adds additional photos - without being able to view by UPLOAD date (not something worthless like “modify” date) I cannot (without wasting massive amounts of time) locate the most recently added photos that need to be edited. I have spent hours and hours on this issue - I have found requests by countless other users begging for this simple tool to no avail. I am now searching for something other than Dropbox and asking all my clients to do the same. Does anyone have a solution? This is maddening! Thanks for letting me vent...

I really do think this is vital. I am desperately trying to figure out how I can definitely prove when a file is uploaded too, but for a different reason. My client secretly uploaded a ton of pics then turned around and claimed they had been there the whole time in order to claim it was my fault for not using them, rather than his for not uploading them (even though the download of the folder I had from the beginning does not have these files). I am going to lose out on 20-30 billable hours because I can't prove he's lying. PLEASE address this. Thank you.

Finding video and photo in the camera upload folder is such a hectic. There's no label of what year and what month a video or image is being modified. I want this feature and know that many will cherish this feature.

Would love to be able to organize files on the Dropbox app or online by upload date or date modified (perhaps even other options like file size or year created) as I'm able to in Dropbox Finder for Mac. Thanks for everything though guys, I've been a Dropbox user for years and it just keeps getting better.

Yes, it is still there but it's useless. It only sorts the files and not both folders and files at the same time. If I updated files in a folder, it doesn't show up at the top of the list as it does on a computer when sorting by date.
- MyztikExplorer | Level 3Only files are being sorted
- LusilDropbox StaffHey Myztik,If you’re referring to the desktop app, since the Dropbox folder is just like any other folder on your computer, the ability to sort your content would follow the same manner as within any other folder. If you’re referring to the mobile app though, currently, when you select to sort your content by Modified, only your files get sorted by date (while folders are in alphabetical order after the files). Nonetheless, I’d be more than happy to pass your thoughts for the dev team to review.Don’t hesitate to get back to us if you have any other questions or ideas for us!
- MyztikExplorer | Level 3Hi, yes I was referring to the mobile app. Passing it along sounds great, thanks

I sorted folders and files by date on the Android app but only files are sorted; Folders are still sorted by name. How to sort folders by date on the Android app?
If there's no such feature, I'd like to make a feature request.
- JaneDropbox StaffStatus changed:NewtoNewHey there (krkhnh), while you can currently sort your Dropbox files by date or name, this is a great feature request; our engineers are always looking for user input when creating the next version of the Dropbox :iphone: app.I’ve already made a note of your comments in my report internally & I’ve moved your thread under the “Share an Idea” section, which is being closely monitored by our higher-level technicians.I hope that other users find this idea useful as well & they upvote this feature implementation. Of course, our Community Wall is always open to your feedback or questions, so feel free to drop us a line here; we’re just a post away. Thanks for choosing Dropbox & have a fruitful April ahead!

This idea is going to need a bit more support.
We've updated the status to encourage more users to back you up!

I'd like folders and files to be sorted by date modified in the mobile app, not just files.
Thanks.
- JurienhNew member | Level 2I have been waiting for you guys to fix this for years. When I try to sort it, it just sort alphabetically, which makes no sense for such an airtight app.

Thank you for your idea, while we can’t take every idea forward we do regularly re-review and will update you if anything changes!
