Unknown file in recent
I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this question, I’m new here.
I logged into Dropbox from my phone earlier today to find a folder to share with a friend and discovered a random video file in my recent activity saying it was accessed yesterday. The file claims to be in my root Dropbox folder, but actually doesn’t seem to be there when I browse to the folder. When I try to view the video from my phone it says I don’t have permission and suggests I request access. But from my computer I can view the video (which is an ad for a NutriBullet mixer). I can see the file was created a month ago by a person not familiar to me and seemingly shared with me. I don’t recall getting a notification that something was shared with me. There are no comments on the file and I don’t know why it has shown up in my recent activity list.
I’ve gone through the security check up options in Dropbox and changed my password and enable 2FA. I didn’t notice any activity that seemed out of place regarding who or what devices had accessed my account.
Please help.

Hi Jay, yes, I can find the file there. So it has been shared with me. Although I don't know who the person is that's shared it (well, I can see the name, but don't know anyone by that name), and nor does that explain why it appeared in my recently accessed files, when I didn't access it, and it was shared over a month ago. I don't recall receiving a notification that the file had been shared with me either.
I have no interest in the file and would ideally just like to delete it from my Dropbox altogether. I don't seem to have that option. And I don't seem to have a way to contact the person who shared it, to ask them why they shared it (or to remove it).

Thanks for the info, as the file is on the shared files page, you should have the option to click the ellipsis next to the file and then click 'Remove me'.
